Cardboard Cutouts: Prototyping and Replication Through Tech and Cardboard

In an exploration of fabrication techniques, this replica violin was created soley out of cardboard!

Working on this volin was a good piece for technical practice. The violin model was created through a combination of Rhino3D and Adobe Illustrator. Using this 3D model as a base, the unfolded version of the model provided a template for all the pieces needed to assemble the violin itself. While there are certainly more robust materials that could be used, to cut everything by hand and assemble by hand did expose the step by steep fabrication process and create a good leaning experience into the creation of tangible media pieces.
